Choosing an armchair

Think about how you sit. Upright frames with firmer seats suit reading and conversation; deeper lounge chairs suit relaxing. Leave at least 60cm of clearance in front for comfortable access, and check the seat height if the chair is for someone who finds low seating difficult to get out of.
