About woven chenille

Chenille is woven with a raised pile that catches light along the surface, which is why it looks considerably more expensive than a flat weave at the same price. It is also one of the more forgiving upholstery fabrics for everyday use — the texture disguises minor marks and creasing that would show immediately on a smooth fabric.

In ivory the texture matters more than usual, since a pale flat fabric can look cheap where a pale textured one does not. Assembly is required.

How to style it

The 46cm seat height is the thing to notice. It is high enough to sit at a desk or a dining table, unlike most accent chairs, so the Manon genuinely doubles as a home-office chair, a dressing-table seat, or extra dining seating when needed.

Ivory is the most neutral of the four colourways and the easiest to place — it works against almost any wall colour and pairs naturally with pale wood, linen and rattan. If your room already has a strong colour, this is the version that will not compete with it.

Delivery and care

Assembly required. Vacuum on a low setting with a brush attachment. Blot spills immediately rather than rubbing — pale chenille is less forgiving of delay than the darker colourways. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight. Check and tighten the swivel base fixings periodically.
