Plywood frame with polyurethane foam filling. The density split is the detail worth knowing: 28kg/m³ in the seat where the weight goes, 22kg/m³ in the backrest where you want give. That combination is what stops a deep chair feeling either like a plank or a beanbag.

The woven chenille has a raised pile that adds depth to the grey and disguises everyday marks better than a flat weave. At 23kg this is a substantial piece — position it before assembly rather than after. Assembly is required.

How to style it
