Here the enclosed cupboard is 32.2cm internally and the lower open shelf is a generous 28.6cm — so where the Rose is built for tall items behind a door, the Kommen is built for stacking books and boxes in the open.

Anthracite is a deep charcoal grey. It reads as a soft neutral against pale walls and disappears entirely into a dark scheme.

Kommen or Rose?

Same footprint, different internal layout, so the right answer depends on what you keep beside the bed. The Kommen gives you a 28.6cm open lower shelf and a 32.2cm cupboard. The Rose gives you a 42cm cupboard and shallower shelves.

Choose the Kommen if you stack books, folded magazines or a small basket in the open. Choose the Rose if you want tall things hidden behind a door. Note the Kommen's 11.5cm upper shelf is genuinely shallow — fine for paperbacks laid flat or a phone, not for a stack of hardbacks.

Getting the height right

A standard UK divan or bed frame with mattress sits between 55cm and 65cm from the floor. At 57.6cm this cabinet lands comfortably inside that range. Measure floor to the top of your mattress, not the bed frame, and check you have at least 55cm of clear width beside the bed.

Materials and construction

18mm E1-standard board from FSC-certified supply — a heavier gauge than the 15mm or 16mm common in budget flat-pack, which is what keeps the carcass square and gives the fixings something to bite into. All edges carry PVC edge banding.
