Materials and construction

Plywood and metal frame on a metal base. The seat runs at 26kg/m³ — firm, because a chair you sit upright in for hours needs support rather than softness — with a lighter 18kg/m³ backrest for give where you lean.

Upholstery is 100% polyester in white. Worth being honest about that: white upholstery on a desk chair is a maintenance commitment, particularly if you eat lunch at your desk. If that gives you pause, the Nicolas in off-white corduroy is more forgiving.

How to style it

This is the chair for a home office that is also a spare room, a bedroom, or a corner of a living room. It reads as furniture rather than office equipment, which matters when it is permanently visible in a domestic space.
